One of the must-see cities that tourists should see when they visit Europe is Frankfurt, Germany's fifth largest city. In Frankfurt there are lots of historical buildings, museums, grand churches, opera houses, and modern skyscrapers that can literally take your breath away.
However, after a day of sightseeing you may well want to experience Frankfurt's nightlife, and this city won't let you down. There are many bars and restaurants, be it casual dining or a more formal dining experience that you're looking for - and of course plenty of nightclubs open to the early hours.
There is a lot to offer in Frankfurt, so it should be quite easy to discover things that interest you. Although you might not want to spend your summer holiday here why not try it for a day or 2-day trip? I'd advise that you look out for cheap flights from London to Frankfurt today - you might be surprised at the offers available!
-- Airline Companies Offering Flights from London to Frankfurt --
A flight carrier that flies regularly from Frankfurt to London (and back of course!) is Swiss International. Swiss International are rapidly becoming one of the most popular airlines on the continent of Europe, and of course, as you might think, they are the largest airline in Switzerland.
Another airline - the biggest airline in the UK - British Airways also has regular flights between the two cities. Although the airline industry is constantly changing, BA is still the biggest airline in the UK. In fact, if any country around the world has a significant airport, it's highly likely that BA will fly there.
A third flight operator that I'd like to take a look at BMI - otherwise known as British Midland Airways. BMI also offer regular flights from London to Frankfurt. Another international carrier, BMI actually carry more than 10% of all passengers that leave and airport in London.
The fifth biggest airline in the world is Lufthansa - Deutsche Lufthansa. Lufthansa are another airline that flies between London and Frankfurt. Lufthansa is of course Germany's biggest airline.
-- Usual Flight Times for cheap flights from London to Frankfurt --
At the time of writing Swiss International Airlines flies from London to Frankfurt most days at 12:25pm, 6:00 pm, and 8:40 pm. It takes an average of an hour and five minutes to reach Frankfurt.
British Airways flies earlier, its first flight leaving at 7:25 in the morning. Last flight is at to 6:35pm.
An even earlier option is BMI - it's first flight leaves at an eye watering 6.25am! Further BMI flights leave at 9:05 am, 11:50 am, 2:15 pm, 5:05 pm, 6:05 pm, 7:05 pm, and 8:05 pm which means that BMI probably offer the most flying time options. Lufthansa offers fairly similar flying times.
-- Where To Find Cheap Tickets and Departure/Arrival Airports --
Swiss airlines offered the cheapest tickets from London to Frankfurt when we checked recently. It shouldn't cost you more than 100 pounds for a return ticket as long as if you are prepared to book a little in advance. Flights are from Heathrow to Frankfurt International.
BA offer similar value but sometimes require you to book a little more in advance to get their cheapest tickets - around 50 pounds for a single journey. Like Swiss airlines the route is from Heathrow to Frankfurt International.
The other 2 airlines that we highlighted - BMI and Lufthansa - also fly between Heathrow and Frankfurt international. Your main considerations should be time of flight or cost - and for course you'll be much more likely to find cheap flights from London to Frankfurt if you book as far in advance as possible.
