Are you frustrated because last year you paid a computer professional repair shop WAY TOO MUCH MONEY over the course of the year to clean your computer from being attacked by malicious software? Are you worried about how much you may have to spend next year? If you answered "yes" to either of these questions then you are not alone. One of the quickest and easiest ways people can reduce the cost of keeping their computers free from viruses, spyware, and malware is by using free programs and free tools.

One group of people would rather spend the money to save time. Many people spend hard-earned money for a professional service technician to clean malicious software from their personal computers. For many this is a good solution. However, what about if you cannot afford to spend at least $50 per episode for this service? What about if you have several computers in your household (estimates say the average family has 4 home computers)? Would you have to pay $50 per computer per episode? The costs can be prohibitive even for the average family. For these people it would be nice to spend the money to save time, but what about if they don't have any more money to spend? Or on the other hand what if they cannot afford any more downtime?" There must be a better way to fight malicious software than to stay on the path we are taking.
Most people, by choice or by need, must spend time to save money when it comes to cleaning their computers from malicious software infection. The first step is to learn that there are a host of free malicious software protection solutions that are freely available for download on the Internet. The more trusted companies have a reputation to uphold and some of these companies offer a free version for home users. Where can you obtain some of these free products?
Here is a brief list of a few of the more reputable free versions of malware protection software. AVG Antivirus Free Edition 9.0 (free.avg.com), AntiMalwarebytes (www.malwarebytes.org), and Comodo Internet Security (www.personalfirewall.comodo.com). If you have an antivirus, antispyware, or antimalware program already installed you will want to uninstall each of them via the Control Panel of your Windows Operating System before installing either of these three programs. I would recommend installing AVG and AntiMalware first, then installing the Comodo Internet Security firewall only.
In summary, home computer users do not have to put up with the frustration of having to pay someone else to do something that they can easily do themselves. Though some may still prefer to pay for professional service, still most can do more by taking a more proactive approach to keeping their home computer networks secure. Installing a reputable free malware protection program is the first step you can easily take to defend your home computer network using free software and tools.
